The industrial zone was listed in the first-group provincial characteristic industrial parks(zones) and provincial important projects by Zhejiang Planning & Development Committee. Then it was named as Specialized Warp Knitting Industrial Zone of Zhejiang Province by ten departments such as Zhejiang Economy & Trade Committee, Zhejiang Science & Technology Office and so on.

The industrial zone has made a blueprint and sharpen its three-step strategy: firstly, to open up 1.5 square kilometers in the first three years; secondly, to exploit 3 square kilometers in the first five years; finally, to reach the goal of building a industrial zone covering an area of 18.7 square kilometers in 2020. Which will be a modern industrial zone with complete functions and excellent facilities, integrates science and technology, research and development, manufacture and trade, living and tourism, and so on.

In the end of the first half of 2005, the exploited area has reached 3.2 square kilometers. More than 160 enterprises have entered the zone, among which some 130 ones have put into production. The industrial zone possesses of 3 enterprises owned province-level advanced technology, 3 ones applied the joint-stock mechanism, 6 ones with investment beyond 100 million RMB, and 6 ones with output value beyond 100 million RMB. The scale and grade of the zone come out top across the country. There are 600 advanced HKS tricot machines and bi-axial weft insertion machines and relevant equipments in the industrial zone, among which the more than 100 bi-axial weft insertion machines are equal to half of the total ones throughout the country. The bi-axial flex banner and geo-textile occupy 70% and 40% of the domestic market share respectively. What is more, its output and sale of warp knitted industrial textile is first all over the country.
